Teen girl hit by car in North Saanich before school

A teen escaped serious harm after stepping in front of a car on West Saanich Road Wednesday morning. The girl was waiting for the school bus around 8 a.m. at the corner of Towner Park and West Saanich roads and bent to tie her shoe. When she looked up and saw the bus approaching, the 17-year-old ran across the road into the path of a car.

RCMP found the driver was following all the rules of the road. The teen was taken to hospital, though injuries appeared minor.
