CENTRAL SAANICH — Dave Eberwein has been selected as the incoming Superintendent of Schools and Chief Executive Officer of School District 63.

Eberwein will replace Keven Elder, who will be retiring come July.

Eberwein hails from the Vancouver area and has been part of the executive team at School District 45 (West Vancouver) since 2011.

He currently serves as the Deputy Superintendent of Schools. Previously, he worked in School District 41 (Burnaby) as a teacher, principal and district administrator.

“The Board is excited by the opportunity to work with Mr. Eberwein as he assumes this important leadership role for public education in Saanich and the broader community, following a distinguished line of superintendents in our district,” said Board Chair Victoria Martin.

Eberwein has a Master of Arts (Educational Administration) degree from Simon Fraser University and Bachelors of Science and Education from the University of Calgary.

He will assume his leadership duties in July.
