The Queen (a.k.a. Carolyn Sadowska) entertains a crowd of 100 at the Brentwood Bay Resort and Spa Thursday. The event was a thank you to donors to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation.

The Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation got some good news at a thank you event it hosted Thursday.

At its donor thank you, at the Brentwood Bay Resort and Spa, the Foundation learned that Betty and Wally Spence, both deceased, left $1.5 million to the foundation.

Wally was the founding president of the foundation and Betty volunteered with the group for several years until her death last year.

In addition, Brentwood Bay Resort announced a $10,000 donation to the foundation.

About 100 people attended the event and heard entertainment by Her Majesty the Queen – not the real Queen, but impersonator Carolyn Sadowska, who had the group laughing with jokes and stunts.

The hospital foundation hopes to raise $1 million for its latest campaign and is currently at $920,000.
