Police stop traffic on Pat Bay Highway

Enforcement blitz slows vehicles in Central Saanich

Officers from around the Greater Victoria region are monitoring traffic on the Pat Bay Highway this afternoon (June 12).

“It’s an all enforcement traffic blitz involving the Central Saanich police, Sidney North Saanich RCMP and IRSU (integrated road safety unit),” said Cpl. Pat Bryant of Central Saanich police.

The blitz started just after 2 p.m. and expected to last a few hours. Officers are primarily in the area between Sayward Road and Island View Road hitting traffic in both directions.

“They do this throughout the region, IRSU will hook up with local municipalities and they’ll blitz and area,” Bryant said.
