Motorcyclist killed after colliding with propane truck in North Saanich

John Charles Mackelson, 50, killed in Thursday crash on Lands End Road in North Saanich

John Charles Mackelson of Sidney, 50, succumbed to his injuries at the scene after his motorcycle collided with a propane truck on Lands End Road at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 9.

According to preliminary reports from witnesses, Mackelson was travelling eastbound on Lands End Road and struck the propane truck as it attempted to make a left turn onto Cloake Hill Road. Speed is suspected to be a factor.

The driver of the propane truck was shaken but uninjured.
