If there is one issue the 13 municipalities in the Capital Region share, it is traffic and the growing congestion.

To hear what residents of the Peninsula have to say, Saanich North and Islands MLA Adam Olsen hosts a meeting, “Getting Around: Transportation in the Capital Region” at his office, Nov. 24 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Olsen plans to update the public on initiatives already underway, as well as continue the conversation around increasingly busy corridors like the Pat Bay Highway, BC Ferries service to the Gulf Islands and address the constant rumours regarding passenger ferries in the Inner Harbour and Saanich Inlet.

Also on the agenda is road maintenance, cycling lanes and why the E&N rail continues to go unused.

“Saanich North and the Islands plays an important role in connecting the region to the rest of the world,” reads the event Facebook page. For those unable to attend, Olsen invites you to submit questions and concerns to adam.olsen.mla@leg.bc.ca with the subject line – Community Dialogue on Transportation.

The event is open to the public and begins at 11 a.m. on Nov. 24 at Olsen’s Sidney office (215–2506 Beacon Avenue).
