Hot dogs for Henry - Today in Sidney

Forget the stuffy corporate lunch, this Thursday (Sept. 29) bring your appetite to 9843 Second Street in Sidney.

Forget the stuffy corporate lunch, this Thursday (Sept. 29) bring your appetite to 9843 Second Street in Sidney.

From 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. the staff of the Peninsula News Review, with help from Peninsula Co-op, will be serving up Hot Dogs for Henry — a fundraiser for the family of toddler Henry Down who was diagnosed with cancer in August and has been at Children’s Hospital in Vancouver receiving treatment since.

Part of the proceeds from our lunchtime fundraiser will also go to the Canadian Cancer Society’s Tour de Rock.

This year Chris Bush, Black Press photojournalist from Nanaimo is on the ride and we want to help show our support for Chris and his journey with the tour, which raises money for pediatric cancer research and programs for children with a history of cancer.

Be a lunchtime hero this week and treat your sweetie to a hot dog by donation this Thursday, or come down and load up on some tasty dogs for the whole staff -— however you opt to do it, please come and join us in supporting both Henry and his parents and Tour de Rock rider Chris Bush in their fight against cancer.
