Would you like to be part of celebrating the the royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29? If so, Town Crier Kenny Podmore would like to hear from you.
“I know their are many, many royalists who live here on the Peninsula,” said Podmore. “And what better way could there be than having our very own celebrations?”
Some of the ideas Podmore has are decorating shop windows in red, white and blue with Union Jack flags; a wedding breakfast and, “A time for many of us to renew our wedding vows,” he said with a grin. Podmore would like to see the town celebrate the last week of April as as royal wedding week and intends to contact local schools, senior centres and retirement homes with the view of having them schedule their own celebrations.
To organize all of the festivities, Podmore would like to hear from anyone who is interested in forming a committee and bringing forward any other ideas.
