In just minutes, Faith Combs, 14, went from sporting silky blond locks that reached to her lower back, to a rather bare scalp.

The Grade 9 Stelly’s secondary student and Sidney resident shaved her head Sunday to raise money for a family touched by cancer. Combs hopes to raise $5,000.

Nicole Thomson, 41, is in palliative care, suffering from a rare form of pancreatic cancer.

She’ll leave behind two daughters, age 11 and 14, and her husband.

A trust fund for the Thomson family, via Combs’ efforts, is set up at the Island Savings Credit Union in Mayfair Mall, under the account 2189546.
