Counsel seeks more time to resolve plea in sexual exploitation case

Ira Parmenter, the former Colwood youth pastor accused of sexual exploitation, is due back in court on Thursday, Dec. 6 to fix a date.

Parmenter's counsel said today (Nov. 22) in Western Communities Courthouse, that extra time is needed to resolve a plea.

Parmenter, a youth pastor with the Colwood Pentecostal Church between 2003 and 2009, is accused of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl between July 2007 and November 2008. Parmenter, 33, was arrested in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL., last May.
