A Victoria man lost his wheels after a single vehicle crash in the early hours of Aug. 10. Police say speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash that happened around 4:30 a.m. on Highway 17 near Island View Road.
The southbound vehicle hit the median before stopping on the roadside. Police attended and driver exhibited symptoms of impairment. He was ultimately issued a 90-day immediate roadside suspension and the vehicle was towed and impounded for 30 days. The driver was taken to Victoria General Hospital as a precaution.
