Crews respond to vehicle fire in the driveway of Colwood home

Crews responded to a vehicle fire at an Anchorage Avenue residence in Colwood on Wednesday evening.

The engine bay of a pick-up truck caught fire as it was parked in the driveway near the home, prompting the incident to be reported to Colwood Fire Rescue at around 6:10 p.m.

About 28 firefighters attended the scene, including members from the Langford and View Royal departments.

Crews were working to determine the cause of the fire and if there was any damage to the home as of Wednesday around 7:15 p.m., Colwood Fire Rescue Lt. Tim Hamblin told Black Press Media.
