Central Saanich extends truck ban

Temporary order banning semi-tractor trailer trucks along Hovey and Tomlinson roads extended two months.

Truck traffic on Hovey Road in Central Saanich continues to vex nearby residents. Local politicians have extended a truck ban in order to meet with all parties and continue trying to come up with a solution to the ongoing conflict.

Central Saanich has extended by two months the current temporary order of banning semi-tractor trailer trucks along Hovey and Tomlinson roads.

Councillors also agreed to explore with stakeholders a provision to allow limited local deliveries in excess of current restrictions.

The District also agreed to have another stakeholder meeting facilitated by Mayor Ryan Windsor, for those to come together to look at the potential provisions for local access.
