A car toppled over into a neighbouring yard yesterday morning on the 2500 block of Twin View Place.

The driveway is unusually elevated and without any barrier to the neighbour’s yard, according to Central Saanich Police.

“I guess she went forward a little too far and her tire went over into the neighbour’s yard and ended up turning into the yard,” said Cpl. Dan Cottingham.

The driver was described as a little bit elderly and walked away from the incident without injury.

Cottingham said when incidents like this arise it is up to the officers on scene to assess if the situation is an accident or if driver competency is to blame. When driver competency is in question the police submit a letter to ICBC for the driver to be further assessed. The June 6 incident was chalked up to be an accident and no further follow up is required.
