SIDNEY — Congratulations to Peninsula News Review reporter Angela Cowan for placing third in the B.C. and Yukon Community Newspapers Association’s annual awards, held Saturday, April 25 in Richmond.
Cowan, who was working for Black Press sister paper the Goldstream News Gazette at the time, was awarded bronze in the Arts and Culture Writing category for her story, Telling memorable stories is a craft all its own.
Black Press newspapers and editorial staff from Vancouver Island earned 17 other awards in the event, which celebrates the best in community journalism from 2014.
