If you’ve filled a prescription in Brentwood Bay over the last few decades, chances are you’ve met Colin Chan and Joe DuQuesnay.
Or maybe you’ve asked for help with allergy symptoms, or tips to avoid medication complications, or had them provide your vaccine come flu season.
From life-saving medications to preventive care to help you stay well, the two pharmacists and their knowledgeable teams have been treating patients in the Brentwood Bay neighbourhood for years.
Twenty years, to be exact.
This week, the Pharmasave Brentwood Bay team marks 20 years as your neighbourhood pharmacy, and that’s reason to celebrate!
Colin and Joe were both working at other pharmacies when their paths first crossed, and with a shared philosophy of exemplary customer service and the value of providing knowledgable wellness care, the time was right to open Pharmasave Brentwood Bay together.
That philosophy is at the heart of the pharmacy’s 2019 recognition as “Store of the Year” among Pharmasaves across Western Canada.
“We try to provide the best customer service, and in 20 years we’ve gotten to know everyone in the community, and most we know by name,” Colin reflects.
The two pharmacists, complemented by their extended team, also reflect the varied services offered at the pharmacy, which all play a role in patient wellness. While Colin especially enjoys the clinical side of being a pharmacist and helping his patients improve their lives, Joe’s interests include pharmaceutical compounding, therapeutic nutrition and holistic health.
“It’s truly been a rewarding profession for both of us,” Joe says.
Like many aspects of life, a lot has changed over the decades, both in the pharmacy and the community. “The store has really grown over our 20 years and has become a focal point for Brentwood Bay,” Colin says.
