There’s a reason that Brentwood Bay Resort has been judged to be in the top 10 resorts in Canada.
Next month, the resort will host their first annual Peninsula Wine Festival and Laura Dohan, the Director of Marketing for the Resort promises the event will be a gathering to remember.
“We’re celebrating with more than 15 local wineries, brewers and spirit experts, all from right here on Vancouver Island,” Dohan says. “We are great supporters of local producers and we’re so proud of our beverage partners and grateful for the opportunity to offer them a chance for the recognition they deserve.”
While the list of wineries and vendors is ever-growing, it already includes such names as Small Gods Brewing, Empress Gin, Blue Grouse Winery, Averill Creek Winery, Unsworth Winery, Quails Gate, Maverick and Joie.
“We’re thrilled to showcase the abundance of the region and the dedicated local wine and beverage producers,” says Adriano Cartuliares, Brentwood Bay Resort’s Sommelier. “We love supporting local producers on our menus and we look forward to everyone coming together to showcase their products for clients. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the resort."
The festival will take place in the resort's beautiful Arbutus dining room on May 4 from 1 to 4 p.m. and, understandably, will be an adult-only affair.
“In addition to the extraordinary, locally produced wine, beer and spirits, we’ll have an array of canapes and small bites prepared especially for the event by our amazing culinary team, headed up by our executive chef, Aaron Turner,” Dohan says. “And, of course, our Director of Food and Beverages, Adam Ames, and our Sommelier, Adriano Cartuliares, will be on hand to ensure guests have the perfect experience.
“We’ll also have live music to round out the experience with the Solid Gold Duo playing throughout the event. It’s going to be incredible.”
Naturally, some folks won’t want the experience to end there and may choose to book one of the 33 luxurious rooms at the resort.
“People are welcome to book one of our rooms and stay the night to complete the evening,” Dohan says. “They would be wise to reserve a room early, of course, to make sure that they're not disappointed.”
Featuring everything you’d expect from a resort and spa, every room offers an unobstructed view of the Brentwood Bay and the verdant forests beyond, along with a Jacuzzi tub, fireplace and a private balcony. There’s also a pool, spa and hot tub and, well, you get the idea.
This is luxury and relaxation at its best.
And while this celebration of locally produced wine, beer and spirits is a fitting way to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Brentwood Bay Resort and Spa, it’s far from the only special event the facility hosts.
There’s a wedding show on April 5 and the Easter Brunch on April 20, for example, as well as a monthly winemaker's dinner, regular displays of local artists, and live music every Friday and Saturday evening.
“This resort is an ideal place for our community to have the resort experience without leaving the Island," Dohan says. “We have many people who come here, enjoy our hospitality and relax while having their own ‘staycation.’”
