Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a break-and-enter in Sidney on May 26.
Police were called to a residence in the 10,000 block of Patricia Place around 12:30 p.m.
Officers from the detachment, along with the RCMP forensic identification section, processed the scene and gathered evidence. Video surveillance obtained from the property shows an unidentified male breaking into the home earlier that afternoon. Authorities believe the suspect stole cash and jewelry from the residence.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, between 25 and 30 years old, with short brown hair and a beard. He was wearing a tan baseball cap, a white T-shirt with a logo on the back, painter's pants with visible paint stains, and white and black shoes.
He was seen leaving the residence with a dark-coloured backpack slung over his shoulder.
Sidney/North Saanich RCMP are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect's identity or the incident to contact them at 250-656-3931 and reference case number 2025-2396.
