Cafe Zanzibar, a casual dining restaurant in Brentwood Bay is closing its doors on Dec. 31 after 24 years of serving the community.
Jessica Norman, a contributor at Sidney B.C. Community group on Facebook posted the announcement on behalf of the restaurant staff.
"We have been privileged to call this space home for so long and would like to express our sincere thanks, for loyally supporting our family and business for over 24 years," said Zanzibar. "We have shared so many laughs, tears and delicious meals, it's been an honour."
To show their appreciation, the staff is inviting the public to visit Zanzibar for a free brewed coffee from Tuesday to Thursday, between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
According to the landowners, there are no plans to develop the land where the cafe sits on the Tsartlip Reserve.
