On behalf of Parkland Secondary and SD63, I would like to thank all the local businesses that support our students with work experience, paid and unpaid.

As a special education teacher, I know (and research validates) the value of the positive contributions that individuals with special needs and exceptionalities can make to the workplace.

I am so grateful that local businesses welcome all of our students, especially those with exceptionalities and barriers to employment.

Like any other person, the opportunity to work, be a part of a workplace and to contribute in a positive way can be a great lift to self-concept and self-esteem. It is so heartwarming to be part of this welcoming and accepting community.

If your business is interested in providing a work experience placement to an individual with special needs, please contact me at Parkland Secondary.

Thanks again Sidney and North Saanich businesses.

Your willingness to host our students leads directly to student success and healthy life outcomes.
