Join a team and clean up your favourite spot in Sooke for the chance to win gift certificates to Sooke Mountain Cycle, Well-Read Books, and more. Register to clean up a section of your community, like a beach, park, highway, or even a backyard. Start and end whenever. Registration is free, with gloves, bags, and bins for garbage, recycling, and metal all provided. Take a group picture with your haul when you’re done, and submit your registration form for a chance to win. Prizes will be awarded at the Planet Earth Party on Sunday, April 22. Juan de Fuca Library Book Sale

If you go down the hill behind the Juan de Fuca Branch and Rec Centre, you’ll find a book sale — all to support the programs and services of the Greater Victoria Public Library. Admission is $3 on Saturday, with book prices as marked. On Sunday, admission is free with book prices as marked except for the last two hours, where admission is $10 and books are free!
Vic West Lawn Bowling Club

Try your hand at lawn bowling. It is a fun, social and relaxing game; very similar to curling. All you need is a pair of flat-soled shoes; admission is free.
