Christmas is just around the corner. To celebrate the beginning of the holiday season, head down to Centennial Square on Saturday (Nov. 17) for the fifth annual Christmas Tree Light-Up, and stay for the Island Farms Santa’s Light Parade.

Beginning at 4 p.m., the square will be full of musical performers, ice sculptures, a ferris wheel and free treats, as a leadup to the annual parade.

The man in red will lead the train of floats and other entries, heading out along Government Street from Belleville Street at 5:45 p.m. and ending up at Store Street.

The event attracted its largest ever crowd last year, with an estimated 70,000 people watching from the sidewalks.
