The Gift of Good Food holiday fundraiser aims to provide fresh fruits and vegetables for the year to families facing poverty throughout Greater Victoria.

The Fernwood Neighbourhood Resource Group (NRG) partners with 16 community centers, transition houses, single parent resource centers and local First Nations to provide The Gift of Good Food to families who are in need of consistent, healthy produce for their children.

Every $500 raised provides a family with a Good Food Box every two weeks for a year. Good Food Boxes are picked up by families at participating locations, with other Good Food Box customers.

The target this year is $80,000 to support 160 families with fresh fruits and vegetables for all of 2019.

The fundraiser runs until Dec. 31.
