Stelly’s secondary school’s Global Perspectives class will be travelling to Huaman, Peru on March 18 to assist in the building of a preschool.
Many people of the area, which is situated in the high Andes region of Peru, are ill-prepared for the cold winters of the region, so the Global Perspectives class will be running a coat drive until March 16 to collect warm coats, sweaters and rain gear for the people of Huaman.
The ideal coats are raincoats and fleece for keeping people warm and dry. Light cotton jackets are not required.
People wanting to donate, can drop off coats at the front office of Stelly’s school, 1627 Stellys X Road in Central Saanich.
