Residents of the Saanich Peninsula were treated to twinkle time during the Sidney Sparkles Christmas Parade.
The parade took place on Dec. 3 at 5 p.m.
The Peninsula Celebrations Society organizes the event and Kathryn Toliver, parade director and Peninsula Celebrations Society vice-president said everything comes together thanks to close relationships between the Town of Sidney, the RCMP and the local fire departments.
Sidney town crier Kenny Podmore led the parade, which started on Beacon Avenue. There were more than 41 entries in the parade alongside about 20 volunteers.
“Some entries have only one float, but some entries have 20 plus vehicles like the Torque Masters Car Club,” Toliver told Black Press Media before the event. “A lot of entries come in during the last week. That makes planning a bit challenging. It always works out fine.”
Thousands of people were anticipated to come out for the event.
