Residents encouraged to take advantage of resources like Sidney’s Community Wellness Park and say fit

The team at Beacon Community Services and the SHOAL Centre for Seniors want to make sure residents of all ages and abilities are taking advantage of all the resources available in the community to help them stay healthy and active.

One resource they are hoping to raise awareness about in particular is Sidney’s Community Wellness Park on Resthaven Drive.

First opened in 2009, the park offers a circuit of free and easy-to-use exercise machines, including everything from balance steps to stationary bikes, cardio steppers to a squat press.

Each machine includes an instructional sign to help guide users through the exercise, and they are designed to make the workout as safe as possible by controlling how much energy is released back at the user, helping to reduce the risk of injury no matter how much effort you put in.
