The board of directors of the Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce announced Aug. 24 that they terminated the contract of executive director Doug Taylor.
“We want to commend Doug for everything he’s done for the SPCC,” said chamber president Mark deMedeiros, who added the termination of Taylor’s contract was a mutual agreement between the two parties. “[His] contributions to the SPCC have been invaluable and the board is grateful to Doug for all of his efforts and guidance this past year.”
The board, along with deMedeiros, is looking for a new executive director and hopes to fill the position as soon as possible.
“The SPCC will continue to build the value proposition of the SPCC for its members coupled with its responsibility to maintain financial awareness and stability, as any business, large or small, must do,” deMedeiros said.
Taylor was appointed executive director of the chamber in June 2011.
“The chamber is a wonderful organization led by a great board,” Taylor said. “I thoroughly enjoyed my time there.”
