Cadets host competitions

The Admiral Martin, Navy League Cadet Corps hosted the 17th annual Vancouver Island Division First Aid and Range competition.

This year’s event took place on April 2   and was Admiral Martin’s fourth consecutive year hosting the event, which was attended by more than 120 Navy League Cadets and officers from across Vancouver Island.

Cadets competed for both team and individual awards in first aid training and marksmanship.

This year, Sidney’s NLCC #122 Admiral Martin Cadet Corp claimed first place in the Range Team Category and also placed a respectful fourth in the individual shot portion of the competition.

NLCC #122 Admiral Martin was formed in 1978 under the sponsorship of the Navy League of Canada, Saanich Peninsula Branch.

The Navy League of Canada cadets program is for boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 12 who receive training in the areas of canoeing, camping, marksmanship and community citizenship. For more information about the Navy League Cadet program please contact the cadet hall at 250-656-3344.
