The Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the 2011 Crystal Awards for Business Excellence. The fifth annual Crystal Awards Gala is set for April 13.
“We encourage Peninsula Chamber members, and all peninsula businesses, to consider the Crystal Awards an opportunity to showcase their business achievements to the business community — and to the community at large — and to celebrate their many and varied successes,” said chamber president John Treleaven.
“The accomplishments and contributions made by the business community sustain and enhance the social and economic well-being of the people living on the Saanich Peninsula,” he said.
The awards recognize business achievements in 14 categories that include products, services, marketing, customer and employee relationships, community support, employers, and entrepreneurial spirit. New this year is an award for land-based business of the year, designed to celebrate achievement in Peninsula agriculture. A lifetime achievement award recipient will be determined by the chamber’s board of directors.
“We encourage businesses to take advantage of this great public relations opportunity, and receive recognition for demonstrating excellence in business,” said chamber executive director Eileen Leddy. “This is a once a year opportunity to celebrate business success.”
Chamber members, and non-members, including not-for-profit businesses, conducting business on the Saanich Peninsula, are eligible for the awards. Eligibility for any of the three Business of the Year awards is limited to Peninsula Chamber members.
