Island Super Series results for North Saanich figure skaters

NORTH SAANICH – Skaters from the Peninsula Figure Skating Club (PFSC) competed this month at the 2017 Super Series Vancouver Island Competition in Parksville.

Between April 7 and 9, nine skaters from the club competed, some of them for the first time.

First time competitors and junior skaters Iva Diaz, Sofia Diaz and Julianna Steinbring all brought home Bronze Performance Ribbons in their respective groups in the Star 2 Girls category, as did Jordyn Mitchell and Jaida Lewis in their respective groups in the Star 3 Girls category. Jane Hopkins brought home a Silver Performance Ribbon in her group from the Star 3 category.

Senior skater Megan Rebneris placed 8th in Star 6 Women Group 1 and also in Gold Interpretive.

Junior skater June Lim, the club’s youngest competitor at only five-years-old, captured a Gold Performance Ribbon in Pre-Introductory Interpretive and senior skater Hayley Gunasinghe brought home a bronze medal in the Juvenile Women U14 category.

The club hosts its AGM and awards night May 25 to recognize the efforts of all the skaters and volunteers at the club this season. PFSC will resume regular season skating in the fall at Panorama Recreation Centre. For more information see peninsulafigureskatingclub.com.
