Province needs engineer to run E&N

A reader says a refurbished E&N railroad would ease traffic on Malahat

Re: The E&N rail system

Victoria should never have taken out the rail bridges. Officials said it was well-maintained. It was rebuilt in 1972.

Now people can’t get off the train downtown, so they need to build a station at the west end of the bridge.

They will have to bring in a track machine to fix the rail system. This machine runs along the rails and takes out the old ties and puts in the new ones and straightens out the rails.

There would be a train to Langford and another to Duncan. This would take many people off the Malahat.

This system could be managed by computers, so trains could meet up in Langford. There’s lots of room in Langford for a train station.

Now there must be an engineer in government to run this so we would save a one-year study and $5 million.
