Speak up now

Here is some free advice to the province, the teachers and parents.

The provincial government: you have the ability to end this debacle prior to September. Do it. Stop playing silly games that affect the lives of our children. Negotiate in good faith or legislate.

Teachers: don’t flex your muscles by going on strike in September. That is what the government wants, so they can point to you as the bad guys while saving a pot of money — money which they’ll use to pay off parents. Go back to work, keep on negotiating and tell the public what is happening during the negotiations. Get the public on your side.

Parents: Why have you not risen up? Your children are being used. This whole thing has to be settled before September.
