LETTERS: Sidney council will draw own conclusions

One of the topics of discussion at council has been, “Does the community care about these changes and want more information or input?”

Re: Town of Sidney Notice of Public Hearing March 27 at 7 p.m.

Reading this legal notice, anyone could be forgiven if their eyes glaze over and quickly move on to something a normal person can actually understand. In spite of this, I would encourage Sidney residents to read the special edition of Town Talk and other material on the Town website, sidney.ca, and to attend the public hearing Monday evening.

The goals of the proposed bylaws are to encourage population growth; increase affordability and housing options in Sidney; to attract young adults and families to live here; to ensure a high standard of design, and; to streamline the development process.

One of the topics of discussion at council recently has been, “Does the community care about these changes and want more information or input?”

The Sidney Community Association has advocated for more discussion with residents. If no one shows up at the public hearing, council will draw their own conclusions.
