NATHANIEL (NIEL.) GERARD PEARCE was born in Hong Kong Dec.10, 1966 – died Aug. 30, 2008 near Sooke, B.C.
Son of N. Chris. & Denise (nee Beaudoin), brother of Ursula and Jeremy Pearce of Victoria, B.C, & Denise Ramey of Bridgewater, Connecticut.
We would like to express our gratitude to all those who walked with Niel during the past few years.
August 30 Niel chose to take his life at the fishing grounds near Sooke where he loved to fish. After more than 20 years of dreadful bouts of depression Nathaniel’s illness took his life. Niel often said “he had a rich full life albeit at times with a lot of pain and suffering”.
We have been in awe of Niel’s many achievements, scholarships and awards despite his illness. He had a BSc-Physics with distinction, Masters of Mechanical Engineering (GPA 8.4/9.0) in renewable energy and worked in technology commercialization in Canada & the UK.. Niel worked, travelled & volunteered in many parts of the world: Nicaragua, India, Syria, Europe & was in 1989 at the Warsaw Physics Institute when the wall came down.
We will miss many things about Nathaniel especially his effervescent, outgoing personality.
A celebration of his life will be held in a few months.
