Florence (Dolly) Eileen Smart placed her hand in the Lord’s and went home, March 26, 2009. Florence was a tiny angel born May 16, 1916, with a huge heart and a loving, gentle spirit.
Florence was predeceased by her husband Sid, brother Harry, sister Nora, sister-in-law Marge, nephew Bill, niece Lynne, and much other dear family that she cherished. She is survived by her daughter Florence McDowell, son-in-law Gerry, and grandchildren Candina, Chris, Reanna, Riki, Carolyn, Colleen, Kerry, Peter, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great, great-grandchildren. The last three years were blessed as she resided at Abbeyfield St. Andrew’s House under the gentle care of Sr. Mary Joseph and then at Mt. Edwards Court (Victoria) where she was lovingly nursed by a compassionate staff.
Florence’s life will be celebrated at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 9691 Fourth St., Sidney, BC. on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a charity of your choice.
