He practised medicine and general surgery until 1996 and was instrumental in keeping a hospital on the peninsula. Alex enjoyed his many years at both Resthaven and Saanich Peninsula Hospital and was a quiet hero to many.

Also brother Frank (Betty), sisters-in-law Kath(John), Nan and their families in the U.K. and many cousins and wonderful friends both in Canada and the U.K.

Heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the Saanich Peninsula Hospital acute and extended care units for their excellent care and to his physician, Dr. George Spencer.

A celebration of life service for Alex will be announced. In lieu of flowers, if desired, a memorial donation can be made to the charity of your choice or the Saanich Peninsula Hospital Foundation or B.C. Aviation Museum.
