Sergeant Wayne Conley has been officially appointed as the new commander of the Sidney North Saanich RCMP detachment.

Conley, who also has been promoted to Staff Sergeant in the process, had been the detachment’s acting commanding officer since last year, replacing Sgt. Ward Johnston, who served in the role for a short period of time.

Conley has over 42 years of service with the RCMP and has been with the Sidney North Saanich detachment for the last 19, most recently as the Sergeant in Charge of Operations.

Conley brings a wealth of experience to the position, stated Corporal Doug Wilson in a media release Wednesday, “and is passionate about providing an exceptional level of police service to our many clients and partners in the local communities.”

“Staff Sergeant Conley is looking forward to continuing in his service to our communities as the new commander for Sidney North Saanich RCMP.”
