One in custody, one sent to hospital after suspected assault with weapon in Esquimalt

One man is in custody suspected of an assault with a weapon in Esquimalt.

VicPD was called to the 500-block of Admirals Road Saturday afternoon on reports of an assault with a weapon shortly after 12:30 p.m where they found a man suffering non-life-threatening injuries, who was sent to hospital. They arrested the suspect at the 600-block of Admirals Road.

Three police cars were seen travelling at high speeds blaring sirens travelling across the Johnson Street Bridge around the same time.

Police say the two men are known to each other and that there is no risk to the public.
