Man reported missing while cycling in B.C.’s interior

SMITHERS — On Sunday, June 18 Smithers RCMP received a report of a missing person who was last heard from on Tuesday, June 13.

Sean David Kuntz, 45, was reported missing by his mother on the Saanich Peninsula to the Saanich Police, and then the Sidney North Saanich RCMP, who immediately notified Smithers RCMP.

According to the Smithers Interior News Kuntz told his mother that he would be riding his bicycle from Smithers to Saanich to meet her. Kuntz left Smithers on Friday, June 9 and he had last texted his mother on Tuesday, June 13 and told her he was in between Quesnel and Williams Lake.

It is believed that Kuntz has been sleeping on the side of the highway.

Kuntz is described as:

  • Caucasian
  • 5’ 11
  • Well Built
  • Dark eyes
  • Dark Hair
  • Missing half of his thumb

Police, family and friends are very concerned for Kuntz’s well-being and ask that if you see him to please call the RCMP.
