Patrons at Il Greco Restaurant at the corner of Gorge Road and Tillicum received a scare Monday afternoon when a vehicle careened off the restaurant.

The driver of the vehicle lost control when he suffered some sort of a seizure, said Angelo Skrivanos, the restaurant’s owner.

According to Skrivanos, the vehicle missed a couple, who were walking near the restaurant with a couple of kids, while pushing a stroller. The Saanich News could not independently confirm this claim.

The incident happened around 4 p.m., drew several Saanich Police vehicles, and caused significant delays near one of the busiest intersections in the Greater Victoria region.

Skrivanos could not estimate how much damage the incident caused, but on the first glimpse, it appears to be minor. Save for some black marks on the restaurant’s wall facing Tillicum Road, the incident left no impact on the restaurant.

The Saanich News reached out to Saanich Police with updates to follow.
