Downed tree knocks out power for 3,200 BC Hydro customers in West Shore

Power has been out since just after noon Wednesday

Thousands of BC Hydro customers in the West Shore are without power as of Wednesday afternoon due to a tree down across wires.

About 3,200 customers in Colwood, Langford, Metchosin and Sooke are affected.

The area is south of Humpback Road, north of Rocky Point Road and west of Latoria Road.

Power has been out in the area since shortly after noon.

The BC Hydro outage map reports that crews are on site as of 1:11 p.m.
