At least one Air Canada flight out of Victoria International Airport has been cancelled this morning in the wake of a nation-wide computer system failure at the national carrier.

The Air Canada AC8060 departure at 10 a.m. was cancelled and the airport is reporting that others may be facing delays.

Air Canada Tweeted out to customers this morning that they were “experiencing an interruption at our Customer Centres and aircanada.com. We apologize for any inconvenience …”

The Victoria Airport Authority reported that the lineups at security have been congested as a result of the issue. The current security wait time was estimated at 10 to 15 minutes, according to victoriaairport.com. It’s expected to change throughout the day.

Victoria Airport reported that the customer kiosks are operating again, as of around 11:15 a.m.
