North Saanich announces 2-day building permits

People building in North Saanich can now get a permit quicker, if they have all their ducks in a row.

Starting today, June 1, applicants wanting to build single family houses in North Saanich can get a building permit in two days if they provide district staff with all the needed information up front.

“One thing we sometimes see is these things can take some time,” Mayor Alice Finall said at a March 26 committee of the whole meeting.

Senior building inspector John Post said it will also save staff from asking for the information as the permit is being processed.

“The idea is that the information is presented up front rather than our staff asking for it during the process.”
