Doughnut call captures alleged impaired driver

Branches sticking from the grill of a 1990 Toyota 4Runner were a dead giveaway for police after getting a call of a driver doing doughnuts in the 1000 block of Clarke Road on Sunday, Feb. 5. Central Saanich police officers found the vehicle in the Saanichton area and after chatting with the driver, the North Saanich man was arrested for impaired driving. The vehicle was towed.
