Recycling fire

Central Saanich Fire doused the flames in about 15 minutes Monday.

The volunteer fire department was called out around 3:30 p.m. for a fire in a recycling yard on West Saanich Road.

Someone onsite was doing cutting with a torch when flammables ignited, the fire department said.

Firefighters took about 15 minutes to extinguish the fire, which was fortunately contained to the original source of the fire.
