Party pair

An officer parked in the 1600 block of Stelly’s X Road could hear loud male voices around 9 p.m. on Sept. 3. The officer discovered a pair of men, one with open liquor that he tried to hide in his pants when approached. Beer, tequila, vodka and a small bag of marijuana were also located. Police poured out the liquor, seized the pot and the two Central Saanich men were allowed to continue on their way.

Fairly intoxicated

Officers were called to the main gate of the Saanich Fair on Sept. 4 around 3 p.m. after an intoxicated male attempted to enter the fairgrounds. Police said that after discussion with a fair staff member, the man punched the staff member in the chest. Officers located a Saanich man who appeared highly intoxicated, he was arrested and lodged in cells. He was released when sober on a promise to appear in court for assault.

Not long after that Central Saanich Police got its second call to the fair, for an intoxicated woman. The Victoria resident was arrested and police seized a bottle of vodka. The woman was transported to cells until sober.
