Tori Kalyniuk and Amelia Hadfield, Grade 9 students and North Saanich residents recently returned from representing B.C. at the week-long 45th annual National Student Commonwealth Forum (NSCF) held in Ottawa.

The aim of the program is to bring high school students from across the country to our nations capital city to learn about the Commonwealth and have unforgettable experiences in Ottawa. This year’s theme was Global Water Issues and included 64 students from across Canada.

“It was a phenomenal event,” said Tori. “We billeted with a local family, debated in the Senate, represented Malta at CHOGM, attended a social event at Earnscliffe, the British High Commissioners residence (previously Sir John A. MacDonald’s house), participated in a BBQ with MPs and Senators on Parliament Hill, and met other like-minded youth from across the country.”
