North Saanich athletes skate to top results

NORTH SAANICH – Six skaters from Panorama-based Peninsula Figure Skating Club (PFSC) competed at the Super Series Autumn Leaves competition in Chiliwack last month and all achieved placements in the top four of their respective categories.

NORTH SAANICH – Six skaters from Panorama-based Peninsula Figure Skating Club (PFSC) competed at the Super Series Autumn Leaves competition in Chiliwack last month and all achieved placements in the top four of their respective categories.

The competition, held Oct. 19 to 22 at Twin Rinks in Chilliwack, is part of the The Pond to Podium Super Series. It consists of six competitions which provide specific development opportunities and experiences for skaters of all ages and abilities.

Julianna Steinbring brought home a Bronze Performance Ribbon in the Star 2 Girls, Group 9 category and Jaida Lewis, Salome Diaz, Sofia Diaz and Jordyn Mitchell all snagged Silver Performance Ribbons in Star 3 Girls - Group 10, Star 2 Girls - Group 2, Star 2 Girls - Group7, and Star 3 Girls - Group 7 respectively. Senior Skater Cassidy Steen placed fourth in the Gold Women category.

The PFSC skaters took part in last weekend’s Vancouver Island Interclub at the Kerry Park Arena in Mill Bay. The next competition in the Super Series is the STARSkate Final in March 2018.
