There’s lots to see and do at the annual Brentwood Bay Festival this weekend.
Festivities get underway Saturday, June 3 with the most important meal of the day, breakfast. Starting at 8 a.m. the Central Saanich Lions will be flipping pancakes for $5 in Pioneer Park by the Old School House on West Saanich Road. The pancake breakfast ends at 11 a.m.
The parade starts at Bayside Middle School at 10 a.m. and heads down Wallace Drive, hangs a left on West Saanich Road and swings through downtown Brentwood Bay past the festival site and ends at the roundabout.
Opening ceremonies begin at 10:45 a.m. followed by entertainment, until the last performers take the stage at 2:45.
A number of kids activities will be on site such as mini golf, bouncy castles and games. A clown family will also be stopping by to join in the fun. Things wrap up around 3:30.
There will also be market vendors with lots of art, crafts and fresh produce to shop.
Each year the festival is put on by the Brentwood Bay Community Association and sees around 5,000 people come through the park.
