As the sun lingers longer in the evenings there’s more to see and do in Sidney, starting with the street market.

Every Thursday night from May to August Beacon Avenue is closed to traffic and over 150 vendors set up shop. There’s everything from locally grown produce, handmade jewelry, one of a kind local artists and artisan creations, clothing, toys, flowers, handmade soaps, homemade breads, jams, sweets and hot foods to sample.

“There’s something for everyone in the family,” says Laurie McDermid, market organizer. “We are very proud of our market and delighted to work with some of the most talented and creative people in the area.”

The market opens May 18 to Aug. 31 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Thursday. The market will be open an extra hour on June 29 for Canada 150 celebrations.
